On Rocky Point — protecting our neighborhood
A developer is proposing 14 duplex units directly across from Rocky Point State Park — at the entrance to our neighborhood on Rocky Point Avenue. This is exactly the kind of decision that shapes what Warwick looks like for the next 50 years, and our community deserves a voice in it. I will be that voice.
This isn't a zoning dispute. It's a question about what kind of community we want to be.
Rocky Point State Park exists because Rhode Islanders voted — twice — to preserve this land for the public. They said: this place belongs to everyone. A developer proposing to pack 14 duplex units onto the wooded land at the park's entrance isn't just asking for a variance. They're asking us to contradict that decision, right at the front door.
I live two minutes up the street. I walk there — sometimes more than once a day. I know what that land means to this neighborhood — as a natural buffer, as wildlife habitat, as the first thing visitors see when they arrive at one of Warwick's most beloved public spaces.
The families who live on these streets deserve to be heard in this process. As your State Representative, I will make sure they are.
